CAN-AM X3 CLUTCH ESSENTIALS TOOL KIT

Important! - Read the entire instructions before proceeding. If any of it does not make sense or is not in your skillset, please have an experienced technician perform the install. Exhaust systems and other vehicle components get extremely hot! Only perform work when vehicle and engine have cooled to room temperature.

Part #: 07-TK-201

(Always wear adequate safety gear including mechanics gloves and safety glasses.)

1. Remove clutch housing cover to allow access to clutches.
2. Remove the primary clutch bolt.
3. Smear a little grease on the threads of the puller stamped 064.
4. Install the 064 puller into the primary clutch. Spin in by hand for at least 5 full turns.
5. Using a powerful ½ inch impact wrench, tighten the 062 puller until the clutch pops off.  Remove puller.
6. Sway links may need to be removed to move the sway bar out of the way. (Make sure you are on level ground if you need to do this)
7. Remove clutch and bring to a soft-top workbench.
8. Mark all clutch components with a black marker strip so that you will be able to maintain the index of the clutch components when reassembling.
9. Set on the bench so that the clutch taper is towards the bench.
10. Bolt Clutch half puller top hat onto the top of clutch into 6 holes using supplied M8 bolts.  Flip clutch assembly over.
11. Install clutch half puller 062 into clutch taper and thread in at least 5 turns by hand.
12. With a very firm grip, hold onto the clutch and do not put your face over it. While holding the clutch, hit the 062 pullers with the impact wrench. It will pop with some force so maintain your grip throughout the process. It is easy to contain the force if you have a good grip.
13. Remove puller and top hat.
14. Be careful not to lose any parts or pieces inside the clutch when separating halves.
